This relaxed-fit (RLX) shirt features one of our signature prints: The Descendant of Thieves Toile. Traditional toile patterns, originating in late 18th-century France, was known for its intricate depiction of rural pastoral scenes. In our reinterpretation, the figures are represented as skeletons—a playful nod to the fact that the people portrayed from that era are long deceased. This twist adds a slightly morbid touch but is intended to playfully capture a bygone era. Over time, it has become one of the Descendant of Thieves brand motifs. A similar print decorates the wallpaper of our 203 Bleecker NYC store, reminding us that when we see death, we are reminded to live.
